ALLOPURINOL AND THEOPHYLLINE
Evidence from clinical studies and a case report indicate that the effects of theophylline may be increased by allopurinol. It seems likely that aminophylline may interact similarly.
Watch for symptoms of raised theophylline levels (headache, nausea, tremor). Consider monitoring theophylline levels, especially with high doses of allopur- inol.
