ANGIOTENSIN II RECEPTOR ANTAGONISTS AND ASPIRIN

Medical Diagnosis and Drugs, Medications
Low-dose aspirin does not appear to affect the antihypertensive efficacy of losartan and would therefore not be expected to alter the effects of other angiotensin II receptor antagonists. High-dose aspirin does not appear to have been studied.
No action needed if low-dose aspirin is used. Suspect an interaction with high-dose aspirin if the angiotensin-II receptor antagonist seem less effective or blood pressure control is erratic. Consider an alternative analgesic, but note that NSAIDs may also affect blood pressure control.
