BETA BLOCKERS AND DIGOXIN
In general digoxin and beta blockers appear not to interact. However there is always the risk of additive bradycardia. Carvedilol appears to increase the bioavailability of digoxin (14% increase in AUC seen in adults, cases suggest a doubling of levels in children).
Normally uneventful, no immediate action needed. If bradycardia does occur dose
adjustment may be necessary, and this seems more likely to be necessary in children.
