An isolated report describes the development of the serotonin syndrome, with buspirone and citalopram. The combination of buspirone and fluoxetine can be effective, but seizures and worsening of symptoms have been reported. Fluvoxamine may possibly reduce the effects of buspirone.

understood, but there would seem to be little reason for avoiding concurrent use. However, bear these interactions in mind when buspirone is given with an SSRI.
