CARBAMAZEPINE AND MAOIS
Although there is no evidence that the MAOIs interact with carbamazepine the manufacturers advise avoidance as carbamazepine is structurally related to the tricyclics. However, note that there have been several reports of successful use of MAOIs with carbamazepine.
The manufacturers advise avoiding concurrent use. Note that, rarely, the MAOIs have been seen to cause convulsions.
