Kaolin can reduce the absorption of chloroquine by about 30%. Hydroxychloroquine is predicted to interact similarly.
Separate the dosages of chloroquine and kaolin as much as possible (at least 2 to 3 hours) to minimise the interaction. Be alert for any signs of reduced chloroquine efficacy.
