CINACALCET AND QUINOLONES
Ciprofloxacin may decrease the clearance (and therefore increase the levels) of cinacalcet, by inhibiting its metabolism by CYP1A2.
It may be prudent to monitor parathyroid hormone and serum calcium more frequently if ciprofloxacin is started or stopped. Note that other quinolones may also inhibit CYP1A2, see quinolones, and may therefore also interact.
