DIGOXIN AND NSAIDS - DICLOFENAC, ETORICOXIB, OR IBUPROFEN

Medical Diagnosis and Drugs, Medications
Studies have found that both diclofenac and etoricoxib can raise the serum digoxin
levels by about one-third. Studies suggest that serum digoxin levels are unchanged by
ibuprofen, although some reports suggest increases of up to 60% are possible.
Although rises of this extent (especially with ibuprofen) would be expected to be
clinically significant, there appear to be no reports of an interaction in practice.
Bear this interaction in mind in patients taking both drugs, and monitor digoxin
levels if a problem is suspected.
