HEPARIN AND NSAIDS - GENERAL

Medical Diagnosis and Drugs, Medications
An increased risk of bleeding occurs when NSAIDs (that have antiplatelet actions) are given with heparin or low molecular weight heparins. Anticoagulants can exacerbate gastrointestinal bleeding caused by NSAIDs.
Concurrent use is not uncommon, but prescribers should be aware that there is an increased risk of bleeding and monitor appropriately.
