HETASTARCH (HESPAN)

Hetastarch (Hespan); Plasma Volume Expander; Inj: 6% [500, 1000 mL]; 10 mL/kg/dose IV over at least 30 minutes. Maximum daily dose 20 mL/kg.
Diluted in normal saline (Na 154 mEq/liter).
Use with caution in patients with thrombocytopenia.
