LITHIUM AND TRIPTANS
Case resports describe the development of serotonin syndrome in patients taking sumatriptan and lithium. This is in line with the known effects of lithium and the triptans.
If lithium is used with any triptan be alert for any evidence of toxicity. If these symptoms occur treatment should be withdrawn.
