MACROLIDES AND TRAZODONE

Medical Diagnosis and Drugs, Medications
Clarithromycin impaired the clearance of trazodone and enhanced its sedative effects in healthy subjects.
The UK manufacturer of trazodone recommends that a lower dose of trazodone should be considered if it is given with a CYP3A4 inhibitor such as erythromycin, but that concurrent use should be avoided where possible. Note that other macrolides may also interact, see macrolides.
