NASAL DECONGESTANTS AND SIBUTRAMINE

Medical Diagnosis and Drugs, Medications
There do not appear to be any studies on the use of sibutramine with decongestants, cough and cold medications, but the manufacturers predict that a rise in blood pressure or heart rate could occur. Ephedrine, phenylpropanolamine, pseudoephe- drine, and xylometazoline (all indirect-acting sympathomimetics) have been specif- ically named.
Avoid concurrent use where possible. If both drugs are given monitor the outcome closely.
