
PHENOBARBITAL AND TACROLIMUS
Phenobarbital (and therefore probably primidone) is predicted to reduce tacrolimus levels. This effect has been seen with other CYP3A4 inducers, such as phenytoin.
No interaction is established, but based on the known metabolism of these drugs it would be prudent to monitor tacrolimus levels in a patient given phenobarbital or primidone.
