RIFAMPICIN (RIFAMPIN) AND SULFONAMIDES

Rifampicin modestly reduces the AUC of sulfamethoxazole (given as co-trimoxazole) by 28% in HIV-positive subjects.
The effect of rifampicin on other sulfonamides does not appear to have been studied. Consider also co-trimoxazole.
